Today, December 11, 2018 the former head coach of FC Rubin Mr. Nikolay Sentyabrev would have turned 109

Mr. Nikolay Sentyabryov gave 13 years of his life to FC Rubin as he was the team´s head coach from December 1958 to September 1971.  It was the "Sentyabryov era" when FC Rubin achieved their best results in the USSR League competitions

After our boys promoted to the second tier/class A of the USSR League in 1965, FC Rubin finished only one point behind the qualified teams to advance to the final tournament and compete for the elite division promotion. Just a year before his retirement, our club finished 8th in the first tier ahead of all the Non-Moscow or Leningrad clubs except Krylia Sovetov Kuybyshev (1 point difference) and SKA Rostov and Spartak Ordzhonikidze (at the time, both sides belonged to the first tier).

Many outstanding players such as Nikolay Markov, Anatoly Fomin, Viktor Surkov, Ilyas Galimov, Nikolay Ovsyanin, Viktor Kolotov, Vyacheslav Bulavin were trained by Mr. Sentyabryov who enjoyed working with young boys and despite his retirement made a significant contribution to the coaches education industry to be later named Recognized Coach of Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.
